Kite Attitude Race Foil Bar Version 4
This bar was designed and tested with the best riders in the world. Albéric Dubray, world champion in speed crossing, and several top-20 athletes use it, including Thomas Lombardo (Flysurfer) and Malo Quernec.
The Kite Attitude race bar has evolved over the versions:
- In versions 2 and 3.0, it was supplied with the AKA 2 and AKA 3 quick releases.
- In version 4, it is now equipped with the click-in quick release, AKA 4 with automatic re-engagement. More compact and optimized setup with a new pulley and trim system.
What is new in version 4
This version includes many improvements, designed for extreme precision in competition foil:
- More compact and optimized setup, with a new pulley system and high-performance trim.
- Thinner, sheathed depower line (border/choquer), offering better aerodynamic penetration.
- Premium Dyneema, ultra strong (up to 2 tons) and very low stretch for the depower line and trim.
- Trim extension with Velcro, allowing you to attach the extension to the clamcleat or even to the harness so it does not drag.
- Delivered as standard with the AKA 4 quick release, fitted with the mini chicken loop.

Why is this bar essential for racing
In foil race, conditions are extremely changeable. Wind can go from 8 knots to 35 knots during the same heat. Riders must keep the same kite and cannot afford to be underpowered. The bar must therefore:
- offer huge depower,
- allow ultra-precise trim,
- handle massive gusts with powerful kites, often foil kites.
Without this bar, holding a 9 m² foil kite in 35 knots, on foil, would simply be impossible. Competitors keep the trim extension in one hand at all times. Thanks to the supplied Velcro, they can fix it to the harness loop or to the clamcleat.
Double pulley, maximum precision
The double-pulley system provides:
- mechanical advantage that makes trimming easier, especially for large kites,
- adjustment down to the centimeter,
- the precision required for racing.
Rear ends, two versions available
You can choose between:
- Adjustable ends with 4 positions (Totem Vario system) 43 to 55 cm, 48 to 60 cm, 53 to 65 cm
- Non-adjustable foam ends. Like Freestyle Wave bars. Available sizes: 47 cm, 52 cm, 60 cm, 65 cm
Line lengths
Foil kites use a bridle of about 5 m, which pushes racers to ride short lines (< 20 m).
Important: The proposed line lengths correspond to the lines only, without pre-lines (≈ 1.30 m), which differs from other universal bars.
Line thinness and strength
1. Standard lines (high-end):
- Dyneema SK99,
- Almost no stretch,

2. Race lines (300 kg):

Chicken loop size
XS: for rope harnesses (without tchoutch), shortest version. Does not require an Antal-type friction ring since the chicken is a "rope slider"
S: recommended size for most riders
M: versatile size
